OF STUDENTS AND YOUNG SCHOLARS

“SOCIOLOGY AND CONTEMPORARY SOCIAL TRANSFORMATIONS”,

Key subjects of the SCST Conference:

  • Classical and contemporary sociology in the explanation of ongoing transformations in the Ukrainian society

  • Social and cultural challenges of ongoing transformations in the Ukrainian society

  • Social consequences of contemporary societal transformations

  • Methodology and methods in the research of contemporary societal transformations

There is no fee for participation in the Conference and publication of abstracts!

The conference proceedings will be published on the official website of the Faculty of Sociology. This is an official publication that will have all the relevant identifiers (BBK, UDC, ISBN) and will be transferred to all institutions and libraries that are provided for by the state rules of publishing activity.

 

Online format:

All events of the conference will be held online in Zoom and streamed to YouTube. All links to video conferences will be available in the programme.

 

How to participate: 

Working languages of the conference are Ukrainian and English.

To participate you should:

  1. By November 13th, 2023 - fill out the conference participant registration form: https://forms.gle/VZ93SmzjcmY1EYbw9

  2. On November 17th, 2023 - enjoy discussions and find inspiration on the plenary session and platforms of our SCST conference

  3. By November 30th, 2023 - submit abstracts to the organizing committee’s email naukove.tovaristvo@gmail.com, under the subject «Conference 2023».

Abstract requirements:

The theses should be submitted in a .doc or .docx file, indicating the participant's last name and first name in Latin letters in the file name.

The organizing committee reserves the right to select and edit the submitted materials. All texts will undergo mandatory uniqueness verification using the «Unicheck» service. Papers containing elements of plagiarism or a high likelihood of ai use will be rejected.

Please note that texts with more than 3 authors will not be accepted. In addition, one person can only be listed as an author in one publication. Each co-author should fill out the registration form separately, indicating the email of the same corresponding author, whose email will be provided in the collection of materials from the conference for correspondence with interested readers. Authors are responsible for source selection and the accuracy of the facts, quotes, statistical data, and their own names.

  • The volume of the theses should not exceed 4 pages. Margins are all 2 cm. The font is Georgia, size 14 pt. Line spacing - 1. Text is printed without hyphenation, and all emphasis in the text is in italics. The first line of each paragraph is automatically indented by 1.25 cm. The list of references is in Georgia, size 12 pt. References are formatted as follows: [Smith, 2021: p. 23] and are ordered in the list in the order of mention.

  • The text should be aligned to the width of the page. On the first page, there should be a footnote with the affiliation of the conference participant. The use of the «space after paragraph» feature is allowed. All images and graphics should be of high quality and have captions (as in the template). Formatting in the text should be uniform: quotes «», a hyphen «-» and an em dash «—» must be differentiated. Please make sure that the document header fully conforms to the template provided in the example.

In case of improper formatting, the theses will be sent back to the authors for revision.
